New Race from player

any idea of new race should post here, so people can see and disccusion on it.

I may not add it to my map, but it is good to try Smile

Here is good example by Vinnieboy_1993
- Only 1 model per tier ? (Tier 1,2,3,5,6)
- Zergling & Venomancer are same model right ?
- Double Attack: good idea.
- Acid Spray : sound interesting, it is AE so take more time to balance/test.
- Tentacle Wrap : unable to attack/move should be ultimate ability, and should not allow cast too often
- Poison Nova: too powerful, maybe when it die? (like tree of knowledge, but you will have to sacrifice lots of stat for this ability)

Viper Hp: 1100 Range / Dps Fast Abillity: Each Attack Injects a Poison in the Body of the Enemy Dealing 10 Damage per Second for 2 Seconds. Stacks indefenitly.

Next one is a pretty unsuspecting Unit because of random attacks.
Orc Fighter Hp: 1000 Melee / Dps Fast 1-300 Dmg
Orc Mutant Hp: 1600 Range / Dps Very Fast Abillity: Acid Spray. A Weapon attack that hits every unit in 300 AoE Units around or infront of the Orc Muntant get Infected. Dealing 50 Damage per second for 2 Seconds. Stacks With other Orc Mutants.

MudMonster Hp: 1200 Melee / Tank Average
SludgeFinger Hp: 1900 Melee / Tank Fast Abillity: Tentacle Wrap. SlugdeFinger Binds a enemy's Unit. Making it unable to attack and move. Dealing Damage overtime. 25 Damage per second for 4 Seconds. Slugdefinger can keep attacking While Preforming this Spell.

Zergling Hp 1400 Melee / Tank Fast
Venomancer Hp 2250 Range / Dpsser Very Fast Abillity: Poison Nova
http://www.playdota.com/heroes/venomancer .I was Thinking about 20 Damage Per Second over 10 Seconds? Or Nerve it? Its not stackable. Can only be activated when 1 Venomancer Ends the Spell.

About Tentacle Wrap: would be nice if the caster couldn't move while skill duration, like a "choking ability", after the skill is over, the unit gains immunity against choke for like some seconds, to prevent abuse. That way people won't do mass "tentacles", because won't be good against normal waves. But maybe you should save this for Wizzard race. XD

About Poison Nova: Won't be good as ToK , since poison doesn't kill creeps, but it will be something nice. Its cool to have different abilities, instead of just playing with raw power/splash.

Zerg & Venomancer different models. Zergs are those thingys that Hades Spawn spawns xD Venomancer is the Poison Dude of DotA

Anyway, the example and idea is really good, i like the poison towers like Harpy & Wyvern much. Would be nice to have a poison race Smile

model look cool. (except you want to stole 2 model from Shadow)

the only problem is: what is total size of download model ?!! (over 2mb ? )

to submitters:

suggestion is to load all submitted models in legiontd 1.50c editors version, and see how much the map size increases (after using u9 wc3slkopt on map)

custom textures lay heavy on the map-size, since they don't compress well, while models using ingame textures (recognizible for having "import - no" on all textures mentioned under details on thehive) compress to 30-40% average, sometimes being just 30kb compressed.

this way you can calculate how much race will 'cost' in map-size - races with over 1mb are probably totally out of question, while 200-400kb could be acceptable, if well themed and consistent and interesting in general - these of course my views on acceptability for UE, huan's may be lower since he tries very hard to keep map small in space and UE is already over 3mb... anyway, keep in mind that several large races can fill 8mb max map size, not to mention problems for downloading players etc...

other than that - the proposition above is really presented nicely, one have to appreciate effort...
